📌 Federal Impact Card Reminder
Today (Monday, September 8th) every student will bring home their Federal Impact Card (FIC). Please ask your student for this card today.
Here’s why this matters: The federal government recognizes that districts like Okaloosa County face added economic pressure because real property (land) in this area has been purchased for use by the military. This means that the county government loses the property tax revenue that it might otherwise have earned if the federal government had not acquired the property. Compensation for this loss, known as Impact Aid, is paid to the Okaloosa school district for the "substantial and continuing financial burden" that results from federal activities. LJPS receives a portion of this money.
This money supports classrooms, teachers, and students across the district.
Please take a few minutes to complete and return the FIC promptly. Your participation makes a real difference for our school community!
