Family Support

Picture
Families
LJPS realizes that its strength lies in its parents and guardians and the extent to which they become involved in the daily activities of the students.  For this reason, we actively encourage the participation of parents and guardians in all of our activities.

·  Parents or guardians are encouraged to join and participate in the school's Parent and Teachers Helping Students (PATHS) organization.

·  Families are encouraged to volunteer, attend lunch with their students, observe classes, be present at extracurricular activities, and be a part of the school program in many other ways.

·  Parents and guardians are invited to monthly “focus group” meetings with school officials.

·  Parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to schedule parent-teacher conferences, and participate in the development and revision of individual strategies or plans for their child.

·  All LJPS families are invited to at least one parent open house per semester.

·  Parents or guardians will be given the opportunity to evaluate the school at least once per year.

Business & Community Support

Picture
LJPS relies on members of the community to partner with us to ensure that we are doing what it takes to prepare our students for the world of work.  The support of local businesses and community members are invaluable resources for our school.

Liza Jackson welcomes involvement by community members, local civic and community organizations, and businesses.  Some organizations support the school through sharing expertise as guest lecturers, mentoring students, hosting field trips, or other direct involvement.  Others support our school through donations of goods, services, or monetary donations.  The point is for the community to get to know our school, our mission, and our students.  We value feedback from the business and civic communities, because, after all, we are preparing our students to join them in the future as responsible members and employees.
