Exploratory Wheel: Students in grades 6-8 take part in an exploratory wheel consisting of 12 week units of Art, Drama, and Technology. (Details for each class are listed below.)
Art: Students in the art exploratory class learn the elements of design, specific techniques, and study of the various artists. Our students regularly win awards at local and district art competitions.
Band: Students may take the year-long band course in grades 6-9.
Drama: Students in drama learn improvisation, dramatic performance, and stagecraft. Many of them choose to try out for our yearly middle school theater performances, and some go on to state competition.
PE: Students in grades 6-9 take PE five days per week all year. The PE units are designed to build lifetime skills and promote wellness.
Technology: Students in the technology wheel class learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. They also create projects requiring them to collect data, design layouts, create graphs, edit photos, etc. 8th grade students learn web design--using Dreamweaver software, photo-editing skills, and other fundamental computer literacy skills.
